With the progress of science and technology and the development of economy and society, more and more people work in confined space, and the typical confined spaces include manned space station and submarine. Thus all kinds of trace harmful gases are produced due to the metabolism of the human body, the material outgassing and other factors. If these trace harmful gases are accumulated to a certain concentration, they will eventually become a great threat to life and health.Based on this, the cordierite honeycomb ceramic molecular adsorber coatings and the black titanium dioxide composite coating were prepared from the point of adsorption and catalysis respectively, and their properties were evaluated preliminarily. The cordierite ceramic honeycomb molecular adsorber coatings were synthesized by the method of ultrasonic impregnation with 13X molecular sieve particles as adsorber materials and pseudoboehmite as adhesive, and the surfaces of coatings were further strengthen by calcium silicate. The crystal structure and morphology were characterized by advanced analytical means, and the thermal cycling testing and adsorption properties of the samples were tested. The results showed that the the molecular adsorber coatings had great mechanical strength and the adhesion between coating and substrate is strong after thermal cycling testing. The polluted gas moleculars were adsorbed effectively by coatings. As a kind of most promising photocatalytic materials, black titanium dioxide has a great characteristic of visible light absorption, and most organic molecules could be degraded by it under visible light. However, there are few reports about the study of composites loaded with black titanium dioxide. Therefore,a method of preparing black titanium dioxide composite coating on the surface of quartz by pulsed laser plasma sputtering deposition is studied. The microscopic morphology, crystal structure, spectral absorption of TiO2 and the valence information of Ti atom were characterized. The results showed that there is a strong bond between the coatings and the substrate. The coatings with porous structure were accumulated by amorphous sphere with a diameter of about 2-5μm,and the black titanium dioxide nanoparticles were embedded on the surface of sphere evenly. With part of the Ti4+ions of the TiO2were reduced to Ti3+ions(TiO2-x),the absorption spectra of black TiO2 can be effectively extended to the visible light region, thus it showed good photocatalytic ability under visible light.
