SDA(sodium diacetate)as a multi-functional raw material,is widely used in food additive industry.Its main application areas are food,food additives and feed industry,serving as preservatives,fungicides,PH regulator,chelating agent,flavoring agent and meat preservative.The functions of sodium diacetate arenot only anticorrosive and mouldproof,but also freshening and nutritional-added.But there are some disadvantages of SDA production,such as high cost by using ethanol as the recovering solvent,and environmental pollution,etc.By using sodium acetate and acetic acid as the raw materials,and water as the solvent,the processwas systematically studied,including raw material ratio,temperature and reaction time.The optimized condition is: the ratio of acetic acid and sodium acetate is 1.1:1,the water content should be lower than 10%,and the reaction time is less than 30 minutes.After reaction,the mother liquid can be recovered by recycling with the yield of more than 96%.The sodium diacetateproduced fromthe optimized process has very strong stability,and the appearance of particle uniformity is better,which shows a high purity and high value product.
