The technology of high temperature of zirconium silicate(ZrSiO4)wrapped sulfur selenide cadmium(CdSx Se1-x)pigment is mature,but it contains elements of harmful heavy metal cadmium(Cd),should not be universal access.The red cerium sulphide(Ce2S3)pigment have rich colors and strong coloring and non-toxic fine features,is considered to be able to replace the traditional substitutes containing cadmium,chromium and other heavy toxic red pigments.But Ce2S3 is not suited to high temperature,the maximum temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere can be stable for350℃,Ce2S3 will be oxidized and decomposed into CeO2 above this temperature,how to get high-temperature red material ceramic industry has been the focus of attention.This article take sol-gel and step by step parcel method to coat Ce2S3 and successfully develop a high temperature,chemically stable ZrSiO4 package Ce2S3pigment.Firstly prepared alkaline silica sol,the silica sol from the laboratory with a uniform and dispersed Ce2S3 were well mixed and then heated while stirring,until the formation of a gel A;The obtained gel A will be ground after be dried and well mixed with(NH42ZrO(CO32,also heated while stirring,until the formation of a gel B;the gel B will be dried and ground,mixing with a certain amount of mineralizers(LiF),Eventually placed in 750℃(homemade weakly reducing atmosphere)high-temperature furnace fired 30min,ZrSiO4 package Ce2S3 pigment can be prepared by high-temperature.The advantage of this method is that zirconia and silica are primary and nanoscale particles during the process of each solution into the sol,and then in conjunction with mineralization of the mineralizers,so that the temperature of the synthesis ZrSiO4 can be further reduced,and step by step parcel method of Ce2S3 tightly wrapped by the zirconia and silica particles,so ZrSiO4 start to compound and Ce2S3 are wrapped by ZrSiO4during subsequently calcined in high temperature.The combination of sol-gel and step by step parcel method,can synthesis the pigment of Ce2S3 is wrapped by ZrSiO4 at a relatively low temperature(750℃),XRD,SEM,TEM,DTA-TG were characterized for experiments.The results show that this method synthesis red pigments have features include subjecting to high temperature,coloration and relatively non-toxic.To a certain extent,the pigment of Ce2S3 wrapped by ZrSiO4 can alternative Cd(SxSe1-x)containing heavy metals.
