Urban Residential Ecological Niche Evaluation Based On Space Syntax

With urban development and urban expansion,the level of urbanization in our country is getting higher and higher.More people have entered urban life from rural areas,prompting the research on residential land and residential environment to become an important research topic in the fields of geography,urban planning and sociology.At present,the people's living standards are improving,and people have gradually raised the requirement for good living environment quality.However,there are a series of urban problems such as "difficulty in going to school,difficulty in medical treatment,traffic congestion and environmental degradation".The contradiction between residents' demands and urban problems should to be solved urgently.Evaluation of the human settlement environment is an extremely important area of urban planning.The "Atlas Charter" ranks residence as one of the city's four major functions.Urban residential land is an important part of urban land that is most closely related to people's lives,and the study of the theme of urban residential land environmental evaluation has important practical significance.In this paper,the evaluation method and process of urban residential niche are designed based on the spatial syntax as the evaluation content and the spatial syntax as the evaluation model,and validate with Chenghai District as the experimental area.Based on the ecological niche theory and the concept of residential location,this paper defines the concept of urban residential ecological niche and analyzes the connotation of residential ecological niche.Point factors such as hotels,primary schools,parks,bus stops and other factors have been established as factor system.By referring to the space syntax model,taking the urban road as the axis,and taking the facilities and road nodes as the space nodes,the depth value,the connection value and the integration degree are designed.Through the calculation results of these three syntactic variables,spatial analysis of living status and living potential was conducted.Taking the Chenghai District of Shantou as the experimentation area,we collected data on Chenghai District city roads and 17 kinds of facilities in Chenghai District.The construction and calculation of the residential niche syntactic model in Chenghai District were carried out,the living niche of the city was analyzed,and the improvement of the residential environment was proposed from the urban planning point of view.The evaluation results show that:the ecological niche in the northern part of Chenghai District is poor,and the niche in the central region has a trend of being good and good,while in the southern region,the niche is dominant.The ecological niche of the northern region should be avoided from deteriorating.Positive measures should be taken to promote the development of the central region and continue to maintain and improve the living conditions in the southern region.Therefore,it is recommended that the perfect layout of the facilities be carried out according to the characteristics of different regions and the construction of urban roads in central and northern China should be accelerated.Through examples,it is proved that the method presented in this paper is feasible and scientific,and it can provide reference for the evaluation of residential land and living niche in other cities.
