History,Legends,Symbols:A Study On Vinegar Culture In Shanxi

According to written records,vinegar has a history of more than 3,000 years.Vinegar is an important condiment in daily life since ancient times.In the Zhou Dynasty,“vinegar maker” was specially set to manufacture vinegar to supply the royal family.In the Song Dynasty,vinegar was considered as one of the "necessities for the opening of the door to the seven events," including firewood,rice,oil,salt,sauce,vinegar,and tea.In the history of China’s vinegar culture,Shanxi played a very important role.Vinegar is synonymous with Shanxi and is well-known both at home and abroad.The Shanxi’s people are also known as "lao xi".However,the domestic academic research on Shanxi vinegar culture is not enough.Therefore,this paper uses the Shanxi vinegar culture as an example,apply the theory of collective memory to explore how Shanxi vinegar has become a symbolic symbol for Shanxi and Shanxi’s people.What kind of role does it play in Shanxi,Shanxi’s people,and others and its deep cultural connotations?.First of all,the origin and development of vinegar and the evolution of vinegar name were combed and introduced,and the origin and development course of Shanxi vinegar were briefly introduced.Second,analyze the legend of Shanxi Vinegar origin and God of vinegar.Shanxi’s people carry out cultural "self-identity" through the "primary" knowledge system,making vinegar a symbolic symbol of Shanxi’s identity,and becoming a sign of "Other" to distinguish and identify Shanxi’s people.Finally,the theory of collective memory is used to discuss the expressions of Shanxi’s people through language(vinegar legend,folk art,local history,etc.),objects(vinegar culture museum,vinegar culture park,etc.),and group ritual activities(birth ceremony and ritual ceremony and vinegar culture.Festival,etc.),daily activities(love jealousy and good vinegar)and other collective memories transmitted,shaping the Shanxi vinegar culture,making vinegar become a symbol of identity of Shanxi’s people.And briefly explain the various effects of vinegar as a symbol of Shanxi.In short,vinegar is a representative culture of Shanxi.It not only eats into the stomach,but also eats into the collective imagination of the Shanxi’s people,making it a symbolic symbol of the identity of the Shanxi’s people.
