In the cutting process,many factors can affect the surface quality.Surface quality has a direct impact on the performance of the workpiece.Therefore,research on surface quality is vitally important and necessary.In this thesis,pure titanium and titanium alloys are taken as an example to study the cutting force,tool vibration and surface roughness during turning machining through experimental research,theoretical analysis and model establishment.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Adopt the single-factor test method and change the cutting amount,then the turning test is carried out on industrial pure titanium TA2 and titanium alloys TA15,TC4 and TC18.A metallographic sample is made and the microstructure of the surface layer of the material was observed.It was found that for the same material,when the feed amount becomes larger,the surface microstructure changes more,and the thickness of the surface metamorphic layer is larger.The effect of cutting speed and depth of cut on the surface microstructure is not obvious.When the cutting parameters are the same,the surface microstructure of TA2 changes greatly compared with TC4.(2)Using surface roughness as the measure standard of surface quality,the influence of cutting amount on surface quality was studied by the surface roughness test of pure titanium TA2 and titanium alloys TA15,TC4 and TC18.The results show that the feed amount has the greatest influence on the surface roughness,the greater the feed amount,the worse the surface quality.When the cutting parameters are the same,the surface roughness of TC18 is the largest among the four titanium-based materials,and the smallest is TA 15(3)By observing the surface topography of the material it is found that there is a vertical groove pattern,and the width of each groove is approximately equal to the feed amount of the turning tool.Observing the three-dimensional contour waveform diagram,it is also found that the surface contour waveform of the material gradually increases with the increase of the feed amount,the surface roughness increases,and the surface quality deteriorates.(4)Establish the dynamic model and vibration equation of the workpiece-tool vibration system and solve the equation.As the feed amount increases,the vibration of the tool system increases,causing the surface quality to become bad.
