| As the core indicator to measure the development of low-carbon economy,carbon productivity reflects the economic output per unit of carbon dioxide emission.In the face of global climate change,promoting energy saving and emission reduction and developing low carbon economy have became a worldwide consensus.As the biggest CO2 emitter and the largest developing country in the world,China’s energy consevation and emission reduction should be carried out on the premise of economic growth.Meanwhile,it is well known that due to its vast territory,there is a remarkable regional disparity among the economic development and CO2 emission in China.This paper examined theσconvergence of GDP per capital and carbon productivity of China by using Theil index.This paper examined theβconvergence by Barro and Sala-I-Martin’s convergence model.Absoluteβconvergence mainly research the difference in growing rate of difference regions.And the conditionalβconvergence mainly analysis the steady state of difference regions by adding the heterogeneity factors.This paper examined the evaluation trend of the relationship between GDP per capital and carbon productivity of 30 provinces in China by using decoupling flexible index and chasing flexible index.The following conclusions are drawn through empirical analysis:1.The total difference of China’s regional GDP per capital and carbon productivity mainly stems from the between-region difference and eastern region difference,but the contribution of the between-region and eastern region difference to the total difference have a decreasing trend,while the contribution of the difference in the western and central region to the total difference have a incresing trend.2.From the view of whole country,the GDP per capital shows aσconvergence,an absoluteβconvergence and a conditionalβconvergence.From the views of three economic regions,the eastern region exists a significantσconvergence on GDP per capital.However,the central and western regions do not exist aσconvergence on GDP per capital.All three regions show an absoluteβconvergence and a conditionalβconvergence on GDP percapital.3.From the view of whole country,the carbon productivity shows an absoluteβconvergence and a conditionalβconvergence,but not aσconvergence.From the view of three economic regions,all three regions exist a conditionalβconvergence,but not an absoluteβconvergence and aσconvergence on carbon productivity.4.According to the analysis of our convergence model.Stock per capital,industrial structure,technological progress and urban progress have significantly positive effects on GDP per capital whereas international trade exert a negative effect on GDP percapital.The influence of foreign direct investment is not significantly.5.According to the analysis of our convergence model.Stock per capital,international trade have a positive effect on carbon productivity whereas industrial structure and energy structure have a negative effect on carbon productivity.The influence of n progress and technological progress is not significantly.6.This paper builded decoupled extended model and chasing model based on Tapio decoupling indicators,and studied decoupling flexibility and chasing status between economic growth and carbon emiision in China from 2006 to 2016.The rusult showed that nearly all the provinces didn’t keep their speed of carbon productivity chasing up with the economic growing rate. |
