Semi-structured interviews with college students with depression and their families collected 8 real family stories.The narrative analysis method is used to analyze and reconstruct the story material,and the stage model of the family coping process is extracted.Conclusion:(1)The family coping process mainly includes the Ⅰ problem perception stage,the Ⅱ(being)disclosure stage,the Ⅲ information digestion stage,the IV regenerative stage,and the V new mode stage;(2)The information digestion stage includes three periods:A stress period,B struggle period and C mitigation period;IV regenerative stage includes three parts:A family analysis review,B family exploration change and C child feedback;V new mode stage It includes three types:A-optimized,B-stable,and C-degraded.(3)Stages ⅢA,ⅢB and Ⅳ are specific and not necessarily necessary for each family.In the interview,one family quickly accepted the child’s diagnosed information,skipped ⅢA and ⅢB,and directly entered the ⅢC stage;three families did not go through the IV stage and entered the V stage directly;(4)The Ⅳ regeneration phase and the V new mode phase may interpenetrate repeatedly;(5)The family may need to undergo an adaptation process at the beginning of the IV reincarnation stage.
