Modern Lamp Design Based On Xiaoyu Bamboo Craft

Xiaoyu bamboo craft is an exquisite bamboo making skill inherited from past dynasties and has a long history.With the continuous development of the times,bamboo art skills are also constantly improving.The variety of bamboo products is also increasing.We can not only inherit and develop the intangible cultural heritage through products,but also expand the commercial scope of Xiaoyu bamboo art to promote local economic development.Traditional Xiaoyu bamboo art lamps and lanterns are one of many kinds of bamboo products.They occupy a major position in Xiaoyu bamboo ware.They embody the technological characteristics of Xiaoyu bamboo art in decoration.However,they are relatively simple in category,simple in appearance and lack of fashion sense.They are also out of touch with market demand in light source allocation and are difficult to integrate into the modern market.The modern lamp design of Xiaoyu bamboo art can not only inherit the cultural connotation of Xiaoyu bamboo art,but also cater to the current consumer market,so that Xiaoyu bamboo art,an excellent traditional handicraft art,can be revitalized.This article takes the modern lamp design of Xiaoyu Bamboo Art as the breakthrough point.The content includes the following parts:The first part is an analysis of Xiaoyu Bamboo Art in Yiyang,which tells the historical background,production concept and characteristics of Xiaoyu Bamboo Art.In the second part,the application of Xiaoyu bamboo art in traditional bamboo lamps and lanterns is analyzed r including the appearance classification,current situation and existing problems of traditional bamboo lamps and lanterns;the shape of Xiaoyu bamboo art lamps and lanterns is analyzed,including structural forms,decorative methods and lighting applications;and the effect of the joining methods of various parts of bamboo lamps on the overall shape of lamps and lanterns is analyzed.The relationship between structure technology,function and mor:phology,and the influence of coordination with other materials on morphological design.The third part explores the current situation of using Xiaoyu bamboo art to make lamps and lanterns in the lighting industry,including the application and shape analysis of modern lamps and lanterns,material selection analysis,three elements of modern Xiaoyu bamboo art lamps and lanterns design and basic strategies of shape design.The design practice of the fourth part of the article is implemented through three steps:market research,design method and scheme making.The design works are composed of five schemes.The first one is "intermountain water rhyme"and the second one is "sunshine and moonlight shining together",both of which come from the poems of poet Li Bai praising Xiaoxiang’s beautiful scenery.The third one and the fourth one are the"eaves"series.The design inspiration comes from one of the seven sentences of poet Yang Shen.The idea of"rising step by step"in Plan 5 comes from the meaning of bamboo,which gives people spiritual inspiration.Through the research on the design of Xiaoyu bamboo lamps and lanterns,we can find that the combination of excellent traditional handicraft and people’s modern life style can not only carry forward and inherit our country’s ancient exquisite skills and make them revitalize,but also improve the quality of life of modern people and enrich the needs of the spiritual world.
