In order to solve the environmental perturbation problem during CNC machining,a multi-stage temperature control system based on semiconductor refrigeration was designed. This system can be applied to control the local temperature rapidly with high precision.Firstly,a temperature-measuring system was designed.A Pt resistor was adopted in the system to achieve high precision. The measurement range can be controlled and the highest resolving ability can be 0.02?.Then the mathematical model of semiconductor refrigeration was established to determine the factors that affect the refrigeration capacity. An electrical system was designed by introducing the heat dissipation of the TEC(Thermoelectric Cooling). This system is employed to control the working state and therefore to obtain the required cooling and heating power.A new type of TECs layout with forced convection cavity-type temperature control carrier was designed afterward.Combined with the electrical system, the structure of temperature control system based on PID algorithm was presented. The validity of the carrier design was verified by the simulation of coupled physics. The temperature can be controlled rapidly with the force convection inside the cavity. Moreover, the proportional parameter relationship between subsystems was give. Finally,an experiment setup of the temperature control system was established to verify the capability.Heat insulation and dehumidification materials are selected elaborately. The temperature control accuracy of our system was up to ±0.02?.The method provided in our research can be extended to the environmental temperature control of machine tools to improve the processing accuracy.
