| As an important driving factor of China’s economic development, foreign trade is also an important way to improve China’s international competitiveness. With the continuous deepening of the reform and opening up policy, foreign trade has developed rapidly. However, the agglomeration and development of foreign trade has brought about the consumption of resources, energy and the deepening of environmental pollution. The aggravation of environmental pollution has damaged the sustainable development between economy and nature to some extent. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to discuss the impact of foreign trade on environmental pollution.Based on the relevant theoretical research and literature analysis, this paper first sorts out the mechanism of the influence of foreign trade on environmental pollution.Secondly, based on the panel data of 31 provinces from 2005 to 2017,In this paper, economic growth, industrial structure and technological level are incorporated into the spatial measurement model of environmental pollution caused by China’s foreign trade, and the spatial agglomeration characteristics of foreign trade and environmental pollution are discussed in China and various regions, meanwhile, the impact of foreign trade on environmental pollution is empirically analy’zed in China and the eastern, central and western regions. The research results show that the global space Moran ’I present that a positive spatial autocorrelation exist between the provinces’ foreign trade and environmental pollution, local space Moran’I showed the foreign trade and environmental pollution of each city not only exist spatial autocorrelation, but also show certain spatial heterogeneity, which means that the provinces domain is not exist alone, the SO2 and PM2.5 pollution is not only affected by the local economic, trade and other factors, but also affected by the adjacent provinces.Further spatial regression results show that:(1)there are significant differences in the influence of foreign trade on environmental pollution in the whole country and each region. In the sample regression of central region, the regression coefficient of foreign trade on SO2 and PM2.5 is significantly positive, and the further development of foreign trade will aggravate the degree of environmental pollution.Meanwhile,in the sample regression of the western region, the regression coefficient of foreign trade on PM2.5 is also positive, while the regression coefficient of foreign trade on SO2 is negative.Neither SO2 nor PM2.5 found any evidence that the development of foreign trade would lead to environmental degradation in the regression of national and eastern samples.(2)The EKC inverted u-shaped relationship exists between economic growth and SO2,PM2.5 in the regression of national and various regional samples, namely the environmental kuznets curve hypothesis is set up across the country,at the same time, the turning point of the central region’s the EKC curve are higher than other area, which shows that compared with other regions in China, the central region must make economic development reach a higher level for improving the status of the pollution of the environment;(3)there is basically a reverse correlation between technological level and environmental pollution, while there is basically a positive correlation between industrial structure and environmental pollution, indicating that improving industrial structure and technological level is an important means to improve environmental pollution in the region.Due to the influence of environmental spillover effect, the environmental pollution of sample area show a strong spatial correlation, and this requires our country should fully consider the space factors on the formulation of relevant pollution policies, not only start with the pattern of economic development, economic structure and other links, but also to strengthen tlhe coordinated development between the provinces and regions,to achieve the effective governance of pollution. |
