Pipe racking system is a very important job in the drilling process.In China major land rigs operations follow the traditional way to arrange pipes.Derrick workers have to carry pipes more than one ton at the stage floor thirty meters high.This manner has seriously affected the drilling efficiency,it can also results in serious risk to worker.In this paper,by using Solidworks software pipe racking system has been designed and the corresponding model has been established,and whole structure assembly has been completed.The designed equipment primarily contains the top-level sport system,vehicle movement system and manipulator system.Firstly,kinematics analysis was carried out on the pipe racking system of manipulator,then the kinematics equation of manipulator has been deduced.In the designed pipe racking system,the manipulator's virtual prototype has been established by using ADAMS software.By add motion pair and constraint on the manipulator's hinged point,add STEP drive function on the hydraulic cylinder,applied load at the end of mechanical hand,the manipulator kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis have been completed.Through above analysis the manipulator's trajectory curve,the motion characteristic curve and the force diagram of hydraulic cylinder and the hinge point have been obtained at the same time.Finally,according to the stress curve,the manipulator's ultimate load was worked out.Finite element analysis has been done for the forearm and the big arm of manipulator by using ANSYS software.By using ANSYS ICEM CFD software,the grid partition of forearm and big arm model has been finished.Load the satisfied grid into ANSYS,then input load to the model.In this process the input load is equal to the limit load multiplied with a certain safety coefficient.After analyzing,stress nephogram and deformation nephogram have been deduced under the ultimate load of the forearm and the big arm.According to the stress nephogram,although stress concentration is still contained in this device,the max stress is still in the allowable zone.Finally minimum concentration stress can be set as the optimization goal,the improvement are put forward.Paper's investigation show that the structure of land rigs racking system has properties of simple,safe and reliable.By using this equipment labor intensity can be reduced greatly for operations workers,and efficiency of well drilling can also be developed.This paper provides a valuable reference for the developing of land rigs pipe racking system.
