The structures,properties,processing formulas and technique of solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber(SSBR)were investigated in this thesis.Especially,the performance and processing technique of SSBR2564 S were discussed,and the formula of tread compound for high-performance tyres was developed.By studying on the micro-structures and properties of SSBR(2564S,2564A)from Chinese manufacture and SSBR5025-2 from LANXESS,this thesis explains the relationship between structures and properties of SSBR.Based on this,the performance of SSBR2564 s using different formulas was compared with the similar products on the market,and the results showed SSBR2564 S had better performance than the similar commercial products on curing efficiency,bound rubber content,crosslink density,stress-strain properties,abrasion loss,rolling resistance and wet grip.By studying on the influences of shear processing technique,sequence of ingredient addition and stress relaxation behavior on the performance of rubber compounds,the processing characteristics of SSBR2564 S were discussed.It was found that higher comprehensive performance could be achieved,if the shear processing was conducted under low temperature,and modifying the carbon black with coupling agent before adding in the other ingredients.The results also showed the stress relaxation of SSBR2564 S experienced two different phases of fast and slow,and the dependence of relaxation time on temperature for SSBR is stronger than that for ESBR.Furthermore,a series of optimization experiments taking account of tread compound system,vulcanization accelerator system,filler-reinforcement system and anti-aging system were carried out.On this basis,a tread compound formula for high-performance tyres were designed and developed successfully.The test results indicate the application of this formula can significantly improve the tyres' wet handling performance,fuel economy and abrasion resistance.This formula can meet the requirements specified in European Tyre Labelling Regulation for high-performance tyres,it has good market potential.
