Amber, which is exquisite and beautiful, has been regarded as a precious treasure since ancient times.Due to its high price and limited production, the amber's fraudulent means are constantly escalating, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish.Variety of amber imitations disrupts the market and infringes on the interests of consumers,so it is important to establish a reliable and accurate method for identifying amber. In the first part of this paper,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to systematically study amber in four major producing areas such as Baltic Sea and its main imitations(copal resin and synthetic resin). The data analysis showed that the amber of each area had its own spectral characteristics. The characteristics of all amber were obviously different from those of copal resin and synthetic resin, which provided a scientific basis for the identification of amber by infrared spectroscopy.Amber has magical medicinal value, which has been documented in the Compendium of Materia Medica. However, since amber is insoluble in any solvent, the mechanism of action of amber and human proteins has not been further explored. In the second part of this paper, ethanol was used to extract the soluble substances in the Baltic amber powder.Under the condition of simulating the physiological environment of the human, the interactions of the extract with Baltic amber and the lysozyme, which is a model protein for studying the interaction between small molecules and proteins, were detected by fluorescence spectrometry for the first time. The experimental results showed that the quenching of lysozyme with amber extract was static quenching, and a complex between them was formed.Amber is not only rich in carbon but also contains many trace elements.Based on this, for the first time, the carbon material using amber powder as raw material(APC)was prepared, meanwhile various canbon materials including the nitrogen-doped carbon materials(NC),the phosphorus-doped carbon materials(PC),the Boron-doped carbon material(BC)and N and P co-doped carbon materials(NPC)were also prepared. All the materials described above were used to modify the glassy carbon electrode. The NPC/GCE modified with N and P co-doped carbon materials was selected to construct an ascorbic acid electrochemical sensor by comparing its catalytic performance and conductivity. It was found that the ascorbic acid electrochemical sensor with the optimized NPC/GCE had so many advantages, such as low detection limit(1 ?mol/L),wide linear range(4-4337 ?mol/L),high sensitivity, good selectivity, strong anti-interference ability and high stability. It is worth further study and exploration.
