With the rapid development of natural gas and other clean energy industries,China’s demand for natural gas is increasing. However, there are certain risks during the process of the natural gas developing. If the natural gas contains hydrogen sulfide,it will increase the risk of mining. In the event of an out-of-control incident such as a blowout, there will be huge loss of life and property. At the same time, due to the lack of effective and sufficient data, the accident will be dealt with improperly, resulting in further serious accidents. Therefore,it is very necessary to have a deep analysis and research for the natural gas blowout accidents, especially the well blowout accidents of sour gas wells, the Analysis of Well Blowout Disasters of Sour Gas Wells. In this paper,a sour gas well is targeted for detailed analysis of blowout disasters of sour gas wells.A calculation model for the range of accident damage was established and calculated. The diffusion law of gas after sulfur injection in natural gas wells was simulated. The optimal ignition timing, ignition position and evacuation timing for blowout control of sulfur-bearing natural gas wells at different wind speeds were determined.A safety distance model was established for the sour gas well and a corresponding blowout response treatment measure was formulated.Through research, the following conclusions have been drawn:(1)Based on the Gaussian plume model, combined with the blowout characteristics of the sulfur-bearing natural gas wells,a calculation model for the diffusion of hydrogen sulfide after the blowout of sour gas wells was established, and the hydrogen sulfide damage area was divided.Taking field data as an example, the H2S diffusion damage range under different formation pressures and different meteorological conditions was simulated and calculated. The results show that formation pressure and wind speed during well blowout of sour gas wells are the main controlling factors for the diffusion of hydrogen sulfide.(2)According to the theory of fluid mechanics and other relevant standards and theories, take an on-site sour gas well for example, established a corresponding physical to model numerically simulate, obtained the best ignition timing, best ignition position and best evacuation time at each wind speed.(3)A two-damage model of jet fire and natural gas explosion suitable for well blowout of sour gas wells was established, and some field data was used for calculation as an example. The results show that the heat radiation and natural gas explosion damage distances are basically linear with the formation pressure after the blowout ignition of the sour gas well. The greater the formation pressure, the greater the damage distance of the explosion wave and the explosion fireball.
