Jamaica Project of J Company now has a staff of more than five hundred employees.The local management and technical staff are consist of employees from both country,with the basic-level staff mainly be local Jamaicans while assisted by some employees from China.Employees from both countries work together and they hold different value orientation and cultural background.What’s more,Jamaica Project is very urgent,most staff haven’t received comprehensive overseas working training,which made it inevitable that employees from different countries often confronted with communication obstacles and cultural conflicts in terms of living habits and cultural communication.During the cooperation,the two sides have different opinions towards work and organizational identification,which in turn affected the normal progress of the project and its successful completion.Based on the actual situation of the project,this paper tries to integrate cross-cultural management thought into the company,in order to settle the issue of cross-cultural conflicts.This paper aims to provide reference opinion for the further development of Jamaica Project of J Company.This paper is divided into six parts:First,collect the relevant literature at home and abroad,to form an extensive understanding of theory and research related to cross-cultural management.Then proposed the research purpose and significance,probe into the thoughts and methods of research,provide theoretical support for the research of this paper.In the second part,the conflicts of cross-cultural management is summarized,first introduced the concept of cross-cultural management and the conflicts of cross-cultural management,then introduced the causes,manifestations and effects of cross-cultural management conflicts.In the third part,Practical investigation of cross cultural management conflict in Jamaica Project was carried out.A brief introduction to J Company and its Jamaica Project is given;the expression of cross-cultural management conflict is expounded by practical cases.There are three main problems.One is lacking of integration ability of cross-cultural teams,the second is management system construction which neglects reality,and the last is low level of human resource management.In the fourth part,the causes of cross-cultural conflict in Jamaica Project of J company were analyzed by methods of investigation.Through the investigation of the cross-cultural management conflicts of J Company’s Jamaica project,there are three main reasons.One is the differences between China and Jamaica culture,the second is the barriers to intercultural communication,and the last is the differences in management patterns.In the fifth part,this paper offers applied countermeasures about collision discovered to perfect cross-cultural management of J Company’s Jamaica Project.Its related countermeasures mainly include three aspects.Firstly,we should face up to cultural differences.Relevant system should be adapted to local conditions.We can set up common values and strengthen cohesion.Secondly,we should establish effective communication mechanism.We can strengthen organizational leadership and person in charge should take the lead.We can also appropriate organization of activities to facilitate running-in among members.Finally,we should change management mode.Cross-cultural training should be to promote cultural integration.Introduction of professional talents and construction of common management team is necessary.The last part summarizes the full text and expounds the shortcomings and prospects for the future.This paper mainly focuses on cultural management,while paying little attention to other management links.The description of the differences and connections between different cultural elements is not detailed enough.if there is an opportunity in the future,it will focus on further discussing cross-cultural conflicts from a humanistic perspective.
