With the rapid development of modern industry,our company as a large industrial carburized gear processing base in our country has created a large number of gears for the metallurgical,mining,coal,electricity and cement industries.In the process of gear manufacturing,the appearance of grinding burn on the tooth surface,make the product performance and life expectancy has fallen sharply,causing a serious quality problem.For this reason,to meet the fast and efficient modern industrial grinding burn detection requirements and strengthen the gear surface quality control of the products,the research of the large industrial carburized gear grinding burn detection and prediction technology was analyzed.Magnetoelastic method as a new type of grinding burn detection technology,compared with traditional detection method,has the advantages of simple operation,convenient,efficient,and the surface will not cause any damage.Therefore,its application in the detection of large gear product surface grinding burns has a broad prospect.However,Magnetoelastic method test just beginning in China,its theoretical system is not perfect.So far,the evaluation of gear grinding burn has not the relevant national and industry standards.And the application and development of the Magnetoelastic method testing technology were restricted.According to the characteristics of Magnetoelastic method,this research started from the basic researches such as the prototype,the determination of optimum magnetization voltage,design and manufacture of portable equipment,and based on the traditional burn detection combined with a magnetic bomb method testing.The grinding burn of the typical 17CrNiMo6 carburized gear was analyzed.The correspondence of the gear grinding burn level with magnetic bomb method detection characteristic values(MP value)is established.The inspection criterion for the grinding burn in Magnetoelastic method was established.The application of Magnetoelastic method in the detection of grinding burns in the carburized gear was enhanced.Magnetoelastic method test is done after gear grinding burn,so the study of prediction technology of gear grinding burn is particularly important.This research firstly analyzed the mechanism of the gear grinding,brought in the concept of grinding energy ratio and established the forecast and control model of the grinding zone temperature.Then through 12 groups of different grinding process tests for 17CrNiMo6 carburized gear,the grinding burn of the tooth surface tested by different test methods was comprehensively judged.Ultimately the threshold values of grinding energy ratio and the online control model of the 17CrNiMo6 carburized gear for the NORTON were determined.The establishment of the model can bring the accurate basis for the prediction of gear grinding burn and the optimization of process parameters,lay a solid foundation for the automate and intelligent manufacturing of gear grinding,and have a great significance for the improvement of the manufacture level of the large industrial carburized gear.
