Now liquid detergent market of China is expanding.Until 2016 liquid detergent manufacturing volume in China is 3.5 million tons which is 7 times higher than its amount in 2010.There are two top challenges under the circumstance of huge volume increase:1)How to strategically increase production capacity to meet the huge consumer consumptions.2)How to adapt to new formula with current equipment set up in production plant.In current liquid detergent manufacturing plant,plate heat exchanger is used intensively to control the temperature in the process to protect temperature sensitive raw materials effectively.In the meantime,the plate heat exchanger increases the in-line pressure,.Whenever the pressure approaches to the upper limit(7bar),the production capacity can't be guaranteed.Thus,the prediction on heat transfer and pressure drop is very important to understand the production limit conditions and lead us to the optimization on the equipment.In this thesis,CFD model for Alfa Laval M3 plate heat exchanger is built.Considering pure water,glycerin,glycerin-water mixture's property changes with the temperature and the liquid-metal coupling heat transfer,a 3-channels plate heat exchanger model is established with RNG k-? turbulence model,mesh refinement,boundary layer mesh being applied for simulation.Numerical simulation results of the heat transfer efficiency and pressure field effects with a chevron angle being at 600 for water,glycerin,glycerin-water mixture has been studied respectively.In the meantime,the distribution of the velocity,pressure,temperature and viscosity are analyzed.A PHE experimental environment is established to sinclination tudy Alfa Laval M3 PHE heat transfer and pressure field with water,glycerin,90%glycerin-water mixture,80%glycerin-water mixture respectively.The experimental results are compared with the numerical results and the difference between the experiment and simulation can be within 5%therefore proving the fidelity of the numerical simulation results.
