Research On Innovative Design Of Modern Academic Dress In China

General secretary Xi Jinping has made a profound explanation on cultural confidence in recent years.Culture is inseparable from the development and education of a country.Culture is the soul of a country.The development of education is inseparable from culture.As an important part of the image of China’s higher education,academic dress is an important symbol of the identity of one’s degree and an important reflection of the cultural confidence of a country.From the development history of academic dress to explore,academic dress is influenced by the medieval priest’s robe,but also from the development of the medieval priest’s robe.China’s academic dress is also under the influence of the western academic dress,which is the product of "western learning eastward".With the deepening of China’s emphasis on education,the three-level credit system,including bachelor’s degree,master’s degree and doctor’s degree,was implemented on January 1,1981.At the same time,as an important image of colleges and universities,China established the first set of relatively complete academic dress system in 1994 to meet the social demand for academic dress at that time.After a period of promotion and development,the academic dress system developed under the social background at that time has been unable to meet the demand for academic dress in today’s society.General secretary xi jinping stressed the cultural confidence should be advocated in current society.Additionally,we should always stay at the forefront of culture and focus on the cultural education.The development of cultural education could be contributed to our society.At the same time,academic dress not only represents the image of China’s higher education,but also represents the corresponding knowledge.In order to enhance Chinese students’ awareness of traditional culture and the national culture pride,we should develop the academic dress with national characteristics.Therefore,this paper puts forward a research project on innovative design of modern academic dress in China.This thesis aims at creating the degree dress design with the characteristics of Chinese traditional dress culture.On the one hand,first of all,in-depth study of the origin and development history of academic dress,and through the analysis of the shape and system of European clothing,the historical inevitability of academic dress development could be summarized.Secondly,in recent years,China has constantly emphasized cultural confidence and paid attention to the development of its national culture.The establishment of academic dress with national characteristics has become one of the important manifestations of firm cultural confidence,which continuous promotes and inherits of culture.Thirdly,the paper makes a systematic and reasonable theoretical analysis on the influence of traditional Chinese etiquette culture,imperial civil examination system and the academic degree system,as well as the hierarchical system of traditional Chinese dress elements on the design of modern academic dress.On the other hand,by comparing the degree dress of “European school” and “American school” on behalf of colleges and universities,this paper summarizes the shortcomings of the degree dress design in our country.Therefore,several principles should be followed when designing Chinese academic dress.The principles include “unity,increase,balance,proportion,rhythm,and TPO”.These principles are contributed to the design of national academic dress,which dress is expanding the Chinese traditional culture spirit.Therefore,the design of academic dress with national characteristics is in line with the development trend of educational culture and the establishment of academic degree system.
