Soil resources are an important carrier of human activities,not only closely related to the ecological environment,but also inseparable from the regional social and economic development.With the intensification of social and economic activities,the contradiction between man and nature is becoming more and more prominent,but compared with the atmospheric environment and the water environment,the soil environment has a certain concealment and has received less attention.In recent years,the industry and modern agriculture in the Jianghan Plain have developed rapidly,and the soil environment has attracted more and more attention.As one of the representative cities in the Jianghan Plain,Xiantao City conducts soil environmental quality assessment work,finds out the status of its soil resource quality,and proposes corresponding measures and suggestions,which is conducive to protecting the local natural environment and promoting the sustainable development of social economy.This study investigated the natural,social,and economic conditions of Xiantao City in detail,systematically collected and organized relevant data,analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of various soil physical and chemical properties in Xiantao City,and evaluated the soil environmental quality.Using comprehensive research methods of soil environmental quality evaluation,taking Xiantao City soil environmental quality evaluation as the target layer,establishing a criterion layer from three aspects of nature,society and economy,selecting index factors and constructing an evaluation index system,combining the actual situation,through Tell The Fiji method determines the criterion layer and evaluation index weights.Taking each township in Xiantao City as the evaluation unit,each evaluation unit is divided into five soil environmental quality type areas by geometric interval classification method according to the evaluation results.After comprehensively analyzing the index factors of each level area and selecting the dominant restrictive factors,the corresponding prevention and repair measures are proposed.The research results are as follows:1)The soil contents of the four heavy metal elements of cadmium,chromium,mercury,and lead in Xiantao City are all lower than the national background value.The overall risk of soil environmental degradation is low,but there are different levels of potential environmental degradation risks.Among them,cadmium and mercury Higher potential risk.2)The comprehensive score of soil environmental quality in each town of Xiantao City is between 39 and 70.Even Zhengchang Town with the highest evaluation score has a certain risk of environmental degradation;the overall soil environmental quality in the study area is at a moderately good level,there is a tendency to gradually deteriorate from the northwest and southeast to the central region.3)The dominant and limiting factors of the five soil environmental quality types coexist in common and difference,among which the three index factors of"soil pH value","soil organic matter content"and "pesticide application status" are also the dominant limiting factors of the two regions.4)From the perspective of spatial distribution,the hot spot analysis results of soil environmental quality in Xiantao City are similar to the results of soil environmental quality classification.5)Xiantao City should determine the principle of "prevention and treatment first,and remediation as a supplement" for soil environmental quality protection,and strengthen monitoring and take corresponding prevention and remediation measures for areas with high potential risks of environmental degradation.The research method in this paper can provide practical reference for the evaluation of soil environmental quality in the counties of the Jianghan Plain,and the evaluation results are conducive to providing a theoretical basis for the completion of the compilation of the comprehensive land consolidation and ecological restoration plan of Xiantao City.
