| Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are typical indoor air pollutants with different sources and difficult to control. In addition, some VOCs contain highly toxic substances that are extremely harmful to human health and the natural environment. In this regard,a large number of purification technologies have been designed and developed to deal with the hazards of VOCs.However, the composition and performance of volatile organic compounds emitted by different industrial sources are very different, which makes the practical application of volatile organic compound treatment technology still has certain limitations. In this paper, toluene was used as a simulated VOC pollutant, and the degradationexper iments of toluene, such as ultraviolet oxidation technology, room temperature catalytic oxidation technology and the combined technology of the two were studied.Using ultraviolet photolysis combined with room temperature catalytic oxidation purification technology,a set of VOCs purification equipment was designed and developed, and the equipment was used to carry out purification test research on the VOCs of the air inside the train cars that did not leave the factory. The main research contents are as follows:(1)The ultraviolet oxidation technology, room temperature catalytic oxidation technology and combined process were used to degrade toluene.Compared with the above two separate processes, the combined process has improved toluene removal rate, mass removal rate, and CO2 selectivity.(2)Experimental research results found that the combined process has better removal and mineralization effects on toluene. Therefore, the first generation VOCs purification equipment model was designed and developed using the combined process principle.FLUENT simulation software was uased to perform flow state simulation on the internal flow conditions of the purification equipment(UV photolysis reactor)of the purification equipment(mainly indicated by the velocity distribution cloud map and pressure distribution cloud map).(3)The preliminary design of the purification equipment was used to investigate the purification effect of VOCs inside the hard-bed compartments of untrained trains. The experimental results showed that the concentration of VOCs inside the hard-bed compartments gradually weakened with the extension of the purification equipment running time, and the curve showed a downward trend. The curve of VOCs removal rate and equipment running time in the vehicle compartment showed an upward trend. The increase in the power of the UV lamp led to a slight increase in the removal rate of VOCs in the hard sleeper compartment. When the ultraviolet power increased to 600 W,the removal rate of VOCs in the cabin reached 85%;when the inlet air volume increased to 900 m3/h,the removal rate of VOCs inside the cabin also reached 84%.It shows that the purification equipment has a good purification effect on the system. |
