In this paper,nano-ZnO/polyacrylic composite emulsions were synthesized through Pickering emulsion polymerization.First,the nano-ZnO was prepared by the sol-gel method,and the crystal structure and morphology of the nano-ZnO were studied;secondly,phenyltrimethoxysilane(PTMS)??-(methacryloyloxy)propyl Trimethoxysilane(KH570)and?-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(KH550)were used to modify nano-ZnO,and the modified nano-ZnO was used as an emulsifier to prepare Pickering emulsion.The effect of the type and amount of silane coupling agent on the emulsion stabilization time was investigated.Finally,polyacrylate copolymer latex was synthesized via Pickering emulsion polymerization with modified nano-ZnO as emulsifier,CO436 as co-emulsifier,styrene(St),butyl acrylate BA),and acrylic acid(AA)as monomers.(1)The average particle size of nano-ZnO is 5.7nm.The results also showed that the narrow size distribution of the nano-ZnO by TEM.The average particle size of PTMS-ZnO was 13.37nm.The average particle size of KH570-ZnO was 15.74nm.The average particle size of KH570-ZnO was 14.21nm(2)The accounts of PTMS-ZnO can influence the stabilization of Pickering emulsion.When the dosage of PTMS-ZnO is 2.00%,the stabilization time of Pickering emulsion can reach tolh.(3)When KH570/ZnO is 8wt%,the emulsion stabilization time is reach to 40h,and the three-phase contact angle of KH550-ZnO is 83°.It is proved that the amount of co-emulsifier CO436 is required to be 0.50%for the Pickering emulsion polymerization.When the amount of CO436 is 0.50%,KH570/ZnO is 6wt%and the amount of KH570-ZnO is 2.00%,the polymerization stability is the best,and the flocculation rate is only 0.82%.(4)When KH570/ZnO is 8wt%,the emulsion stabilization time is reach to 3 7h.It is proved that the amount of co-emulsifier CO436 is required to be 0.10%for the Pickering emulsion polymerization.When KH570/ZnO is 6wt%and the amount of KH570-ZnO is 2.00%,the polymerization stability is the best,and the flocculation rate is only 0.82%.
