The application of the whole tailings in the filling process is of great significance to the utilization of the tailings and the reduction of the storage capacity of the tailings pond.Among them,how to accelerate the settlement of the fine particles is the key to the filling process.At present,a large number of domestic and foreign scholars have been looking for efficient and reliable flocculation agents and selecting the appropriate flocculation settlement conditions and processes,although the settlement effect of the whole tailings mortar has been improved,However,many factors that affect the settlement effect of full tail mortar and flocculation mechanism are not discussed.In this paper,based on the indoor static flocculation settling test of the tailings of a copper mine,the analysis of the particle size of the tailings by the Winner 2000 laser particle size analyzer,the observation of the micro morphology of the tailings by the scanning electron microscope,and the measurement of the surface potential of the tailings by the Zeta electromotive force instrument,we get the results based on the internal and external factors(different types of flocculants,concentration and unit consumption of flocculants,concentration and particle size of the whole tailings mortar,and external factors Environment)to explain the effect mechanism of flocculant on the high efficiency of the whole tail mortar under various factors,and to provide experimental basis for the study of the conditions of the high efficiency of flocculant.The main results and conclusions are as follows.(1)Through the preliminary selection of flocculant,PAM flocculant has the best settling effect on the tailings used in this test,adding PAM can obviously improve the settling effect of the whole tail mortar;the best relative molecular weight test of PAM flocculant shows that the best relative molecular weight of APAM is 1.5×10~7,the best relative molecular weight of CPAM is 1.2×10~7,and the best relative molecular weight of NPAM is 1.8×10~7 Moreover,APAM is better than CPAM and NPAM in settling effect of full tail mortar.(2)Through the study of the influence of the concentration and unit consumption of the internal factors flocculant on the settlement effect,it is found that the settlement effect of the whole tail mortar increases first and then decreases with the increase of APAM concentration and unit consumption,the best flocculant concentration is 1‰,and the best flocculant unit consumption is 40g/t;the influence of the unit consumption of flocculant on the settlement effect is verified by measuring the Zeta potential on the surface of the tail sand,and the result is obtained With the increase of flocculant consumption,the absolute value of zeta potential on tailings surface first decreased and then increased,and it was close to 0 when the consumption was 40g/t.(3)Through the research on the influence of internal factors-the concentration and particle size of full tailed mortar on the settlement effect,with the increase of tailing mass concentration,the settling speed is obviously reduced,and the unit consumption of the best flocculant is obviously increased at this time;when the proportion of particles with the particle size less than 37?m in the full tailed sand is large,the settlement effect is obviously reduced;through the Winner 2000 laser particle size analyzer,the settlement effect is obviously reduced The particle size of tailings in the process is analyzed.The particle size less than 9.703?m is easy to interact with flocculant.The particle size between 9.703?m and 36.851?m is easy to interact with flocculant with the increase of unit consumption.The particle size larger than 36.851?m does not interact with flocculant.The test of SEM shows that the particle size smaller than 37?m will agglomerate in the particle size larger than 37?m with the addition of flocculant.In the process of flocculation and sedimentation,the polymer chain of flocculant and tailings particles with particle size less than 37?m adsorb each other to form flocs,and the tailings particles with particle size greater than 37?m are"netted"to form flocs and accelerate sedimentation.(4)Through the study of external factors-the influence of pH value and temperature of full tail mortar on the settlement effect,APAM has a better change on the settlement effect of full tail mortar with the increase of pH value of full tail mortar;through the study of zeta potential on the surface of tailings,with the increase of pH value of full tail mortar,the absolute value of Zeta potential tends to zero;the settlement effect of flocculant on full tail mortar with the increase of temperature When the temperature is at 30?,it reaches the maximum settlement rate.
