At present,the main energy used in the tobacco curing is coal fuel,which causes a great problem of energy shortage and environmental pollution.It is urgent to research and develop an alternative energy sources.Tobacco stalk,as one of biomass energy and a main by-product in tobacco production,has many obvious advantages such as abundant productivity,easing for transportation and storage.In this paper,based on biomass briquetting fuel technology,we explored the feasibility of tobacco stalk as an alternative energy applied in tobacco curing,the conclusion we have drawn as following:(1)The combustion performance,calorific value and ash melting point of tobacco stalks didn’t have obvious advantages as an alternative energy source compared with rice straw,corn straw,sawdust,coffee shell,rice husk and bagasse.While combining with the cost and the structure of agriculture product s in Baoshan,coffee shells and sawdust are priority selected to improve the combustion performance and ash fusibility of tobacco stalk.(2)By using TG-FTIR technology,the performance of mixed pellet fuel with different component was tested.The results show that the combustion performance of the tobacco stalk is improved by adding sawdust and coffee shell in it.The ACO/ACO2O2 decreases obviously in the combustion of the mixed biomass pellet fuel,which indicates that by adding sawdust and coffee shell in the tobacco stalk can reduce the atmospheric pollution and improve the combustion performance.Considering the productivity and the cost of sawdust and coffee shell,10%sawdust and 20%coffee shell were added to the tobacco stem to form a mixed biomass pellet fuel as an alternative energy source.(3)Compared with the coal in the tobacco curing,the dry bulb temperature in the tobacco curing barn of the mixed pellet fuel(70%tobacco stalk,10%sawdust and 20%coffee shell)has a lower deviation,which showed that the mixed pellet fuel was help to the application of precision curing.(4)By analyzing the quality of flue-cured tobacco leaves,it can be seen that the leaves used the mixed biomass pellet fuel to curing had better physical characteristics,chemical composition and tasty than the coal fuel cured leaves.(5)According to the analysis of economic characteristics,by using the mixed biomass pellet fuel to curing tobacco leaves,the proportion of medium to high tobacco increased by5.40%and the average price of dry tobacco increased by 2.1 yuan per kilogram.Furthermore,the average costs decreased by 0.22 yuan.(6)The amout of polluting gas(CO、SO2)of using the mixed biomass pellet fuel was significantly lower than that in coal-cured,which showed the mixed biomass pellet fuel was environmentally friendly.
