Die steel is a steel grade used to manufacture cold stamping dies,hot forging dies,die casting dies and other dies.At present,the application fields of die steel are constantly expanding,.As a kind of raw material for plate parts,rectangular ingot are called "universal steel".They are widely used in the field of mold manufacturing.Rectangular ingots have low yield caused by various casting defects,such as insufficient pouring,.cold partition etc.Based on the equipment parameters of the electric furnace and rolling mill provided by a steel plant,a large-thickness-ratio die steel ingot is designed.The method of water simulation experiment and numerical simulation is used to optimize the ingot casting and casting process parameters.The main results are as follows:(1)A large width thickness ratio rectangular ingot is designed,the ingot weight is0.5 t,the ingot size is 1500mm×500mm×90mm.The width thickness ratio is 5.56,the cap volume ratio is 7.13,and the mold ingot ratio is 1.38;the material of the mold is nodular cast iron.The insulating riser is used and the insulating plate is made of materials with low heat transfer coefficient.In order to avoid excessive depth of shrinkage cavity,horizontal pouring is adopted.(2)Water simulation experiments were performed using a model with a geometric ratio of 1:2 of the ingot.Experiments show that the greater the pouring speed,the greater the splash of the bottom of the liquid contact mold,and the more violent the liquid level;The liquid level of the double nozzle pouring is improved smoothly,and the liquid level fluctuation is small.(3)Based on the Pro CAST software platform,a numerical simulation model for casting and solidification of die steel ingots was established.The model was checked.The model was used to simulate the effects of the nozzle diameter,the pouring speed,the number of nozzles on the flow field,the liquid level fluctuation and the temperature field of the ingot.The results show optimal parameters that the nozzle diameter is D=28mm and the pouring speed is 1m/s.With two nozzles.When the two nozzles are poured,the liquid level of the ingot is relatively stable,and the isotherm is straight after the ingot is filled.
