| As a typical representative of the transition from traditional embroidery to modern artworks,Nantong’s mural with coloured satin embroidery have gradually expanded from traditional,small and exquisite embroidery to modern production of large-scale frescoes.The works are of unique artistic charm,showing the artistic and cultural value of traditional Chinese handicrafts.Decorative language is the most direct artistic manifestation of Nantong’s mural,which fully shows the historical background and design intention of works.From the view of design aesthetics,the decorative language forms of Nantong colorful and splendid murals from a new perspective.Based on the historical background of Nantong’s mural with coloured satin embroidery,this paper compares it with other two branches of Suzhou embroidery—Nantong emulational embroidery and Changzhou embroidery with overlapping threads,and proves that the decorative language of Nantong’s mural with coloured satin embroidery is more suitable for mural development.Secondly,from the aspects of modeling characteristics,color decoration,texture effect and composition,it summarizes the features of simplicity,craftsmanship and modernity embodied in its decorative language.In the creation of Nantong’s mural,especially the decorative function reflected in the application of space environment,as well as the cultural and spiritual connotation expressed by traditional handcraft.Nantong’s mural with coloured satin embroidery is the product of specific background and social factors;the inheritance of handicraft is the external driving force of artistic creation.The prominent features and artistic forms of it in decorating is the space environment.With the diversification of the artistic forms of Nantong’s mural with coloured satin embroidery,the value and influence of the visibility and objectivity of decorative language in the field of arts and crafts will be more prominent,which provides contemporary artists with traditional art resources for reference.Figure 20;Table 8;Reference 55... |
