Conformal cooling channel can realize the uniform cooling of the mold,significantly improve the quality of plastic parts,reduce cooling time,and improve production efficiency.Selective laser melting(SLM)technology has the characteristics of high degree of freedom,which solves the problem that it is difficult to machine the conformal cooling channel.Combined with SLM technology,the productions of mold with conformal cooling channel has been widely used in the mold industry,and as teaching aids,the application of the productions in the education industry is also increasing.This paper mainly studies the design of the mold conformal cooling channel and the SLM manufacturing of the injection mold,explores the application of conformal cooling technology combined with SLM manufacturing,then evaluates the safety of SLM manufacturing.First of all,the traditional cooling channel and conformal cooling channel of tee injection mold are designed by NX software,and the cooling and warping deformation of plastic parts are simulated by CAE software Moldex3 D to explore the advantages of conformal cooling technology;Secondly,the temperature field in the process of SLM machining 18ni300 die steel is simulated by the finite element software ANSYS.The basic characteristics of the temperature field and the influence of laser power P and scanning speed V on the temperature field are explored.The simulation results are verified by SLM experiments;Subsequently,based on the above research results,the conformal cooling channel of the roulette injection mold is designed and its core is manufactured with SLM technology.The application of conformal cooling technology combining SLM manufacturing in teaching is explored;Finally,from the four aspects of human,machine,environment and management,the risk factors of SLM processing are identified.The fault tree analysis method is used to analyze the causes of SLM equipment failure,and the corresponding preventive measures are proposed to ensure the safety of production.The results show that: Compared with the traditional cooling channel system,the conformal cooling channel system has better cooling uniformity,shorter cooling cycle and smaller warpage;When p = 300 W,v = 800 mm / s,the width and depth of the weld pool are appropriate,and the laps between adjacent scanning channels and adjacent layers are good,which are helpful to forming SLM parts;SLM parts with smooth surface and density up to 99.96% were successfully prepared under P = 300 W and V = 800 mm / s process parameters.
