In the actual production process, because of the influence of topography, pressure, temperature and other factors, the wellbore trajectory often appears continuous fluctuation section. The fluctuation section is easy to induce slug flow, which has adverse effects on underground and surface equipment. Therefore,it is necessary to reasonably predict the generation and dissipation time of slug flow.In addition, for the calculation of wellbore pressure gradient,in order to ensure the accuracy of the results, the flow pattern should be considered. Therefore,it is of great significance to establish a reasonable discriminant model for gas-liquid two-phase flow boundary.Based on Barnea model, this paper studies the mechanism of slug flow transformation and the corresponding criteria for judging the flow boundary. In this paper,we systematically studies the influence of inclination, diameter and other parameters on the flow boundary. The limitation of Barnea model is demonstrated by mechanism analysis and experiment. For this reason,a non-equal thickness liquid film model is established. The Barnea model is revised by combining relevant empirical formulas, finally a set of criteria for judging the flow boundary of slug flow in inclined pipes is formed.Based on the comparison and analysis between the model established by previous researchers and the experimental data,a complete set of flow discrimination model is formed. In this study,a set of flow pattern recognition software is compiled based on the revised model, which can be used for flow pattern recognition in inclined pipe.
