By using ultrasonic phased array technology,inspectors can get the defects information of the workpiece at different scanning angles easily.However,the surface of the gas storage casing is circular shape,which is difficult to fully couple with the linear phased array.Therefore,a cylindrical phased array scanning method is adopted instead,and water is used as a coupling medium for detection.When using a cylindrical phased array for water immersion detection,it is necessary to determine the geometric parameters of the cylindrical phased array and the focus law of the sound beam focusing inside the workpiece.This paper analyzes some key problems during the linear phased array water immersion detection.By analyzing the similarities and differences between linear array and cylindrical phased array,the relevant parameters of cylindrical phased array and the key techniques in its detection are determined.In the aspect of water immersion linear phased array detection,the influence of water depth on detection is firstly explored.Secondly,the singularity of the propagation path of sound beam on the casing-curve interface of water-storage well under specific detection conditions is verified,and the focusing law inside the casing is determined.After that,we simulate the internal acoustic field of the workpiece through the multi-gaussian beam model,and verify the effectiveness of the focusing law involved in the previous chapter,then change the parameters to determine the influence of different parameters on the radiated sound field.Finally,the relevant software was developed.By testing the actual workpiece,the rationality of water depth setting and the validity of focusing rule design are verified.Then,defects in different locations are detected.,the outcomes are consistent with the actual situation,which proves the rationality of the key technologies.According to the analysis,we found that under certain conditions,the design of the cylindrical phased array can be equivalent to the design of the linear phased array.Therefore,under certain detection conditions,cylindrical phased array detection is equivalent to the detection using a linear phased array.Thus,conduct the size design of the cylindrical phased array and set the detection parameter according to the relevant parameters in the paper,then we can detect the casing of the gas storage well effectively.
