Double pulse MIG welding is a new welding method developed in recent years,which has many welding parameters and a wide range of adjustment,low welding heat input,beautiful weld forming and other characteristics,so it has been paid attention to,and more and more widely used in material connection.The essence of double pulse MIG welding is to modulate high frequency pulse by low frequency pulse signal to produce two kinds of strong and weak pulse groups with different energy in low frequency period.Based on the research of double pulse MIG welding equipment at home and abroad,this paper designs a double pulse MIG welding machine based on ARM.Firstly,this paper introduces the hardware structure of double pulse MIG welder.The main circuit is mainly designed for air switch,electromagnetic compatibility,input rectifying and filtering circuit,inverter circuit,intermediate frequency transformer and output rectifying and filtering circuit.In this paper,ARM control system is adopted in the control circuit,in which powerful STM32F407ZGT6 ARM chip is selected,which has advanced cortex-m4 kernel,enhanced DSP processing instructions,more storage space,faster processing speed and 3 SPI,3 12-bit ADC,212-bit DAC,etc.ARM minimum system can realize welding data collection,output a given pulse width signal,provide constant current characteristics.UC3846 chip as the core of the drive circuit to achieve signal amplification,driving IGBT on and off,to achieve the output of double pulse waveform.In addition,the current and voltage sampling circuit,operation panel circuit,welding protection circuit and so on are designed.Secondly,the software Keil uVison5 is used to design the C language for the control of arm-based double-pulse MIG welder.Procedures are modular design,easy to program and read modification.The program mainly has the welder main program,the parameter display and the preset program,the A/D conversion program,the PI adjustment program,the double pulse program,the MAX7219 driver program and so on.Finally,the designed hardware circuit is debugged separately,mainly including operation panel display and parameter debugging,driving circuit waveform test,sampling circuit test.After the single debugging is correct,the whole machine debugging,mainly including the output no-load voltage test,welding machine external characteristics test,double pulse output waveform test.After the test,thewelding experiments of carbon steel and aluminum alloy were carried out.The experiment proves that the arm-based double-pulse MIG welding machine designed in this paper can realize the double-pulse function,and the welding parameters are precisely adjustable,the welding process is stable,and the welding form is good.
