Laser cladding is widely used in surface repair of mechanical parts as a remanufacturing technique.However,the structural characteristics of gear will have a certain impact on the coating in the process of repairing tooth surface defects by the laser cladding technology.At present,the study of laser cladding is carried out on the premise of substrate level,so it cannot be directly applied to the repair of tooth surface defects.In order to broaden the application range of laser cladding technology and improve the repair quality of tooth surface defects,this paper makes a detailed study on the repair of tooth surface defects by the laser cladding technology.The specific work are as follows:Firstly,the relative positions and attitudes of laser head and substrate are analyzed.And the mathematical model are established for the relative positions and attitudes of laser head and substrate.Through processing and analysing the data of orthogonal experiment results,the influence law is summarized for the relative positions and attitudes of laser head and substrate by the tilt angle.And it is determined that a relative position and attitude of laser head and substrate which suitable for the repair of tooth surface defects by laser cladding after the studing to the relative positions and attitudes of laser head and substrate.Secondly,the influence law is studied for the laser cladding by tilt angle based on the relative position and attitude of laser head and substrate.And there are five geometric parameters that are mainly affected by the tilt angle after analysing the data of orthogonal experiment results.They are the layer cladding width,the layer cladding height,the peak shift,the elevation side width,the reduction side width.Through analysing of the physical model and establishing of the mathematical model about the distribution of laser energy and powder quality,the five geometric parameters are predicted of which the accuracy can be verified by the experiments.Meanwhile the accuracy of the physical model and mathematical model can be verified by profiles of laser cladding in experimental results.The results show that the theoretical prediction model can accurately predict the geometry size of laser cladding,and the influence of tilt angle on profiles of laser cladding is basically consistent with the established mathematical model.Finally,the geometric mathematical model of repair defects of tooth surface by laser is established based on the processing principle of tooth profile.And the five geometricparameters are predicted by the theoretical prediction model after calculating the deflection angle and the tilt angle when the tooth profile of different parts are repaired.At the same time,according to the mathematical model of the laser energy and powder quality to predict profiles of laser cladding,relative suitable process parameters can be determined.The feasibility of the geometric mathematical model of repair defects of tooth surface can be verified by the experimental results.The experimental results show that the geometric mathematical model of repair defects of tooth surface can make the profiles of laser cladding on the tooth surface close to the original tooth profile of the gear.
