With the development of China's economy and the promotion of scientific development, how to increase the utilization rate of resources and develop a cyclic economy have become research hotspots in many research fields in China. In this paper, the smelting slag of a factory is used as the main raw material to prepare porous ceramics. In the experiment, the effects of different smelting slag content, different foaming agent dosage and different sintering systems on porous ceramics were studied. The bulk density, compressive strength, water absorption and porosity of the samples were measured by method of Archimedes. The phase structure and microstructure of the samples were characterized by XRD diffraction, optical microscope, infrared spectroscopy, photothermal measurement system and other modern analytical methods. The experiment uses smelting slag as the main raw material, adding ceramic waste powder to prepare the formula of porous ceramics, and studies the optimal proportion of smelting slag content;it observes the morphology of samples at different temperatures in a TOM-AC heating stage analyzer and determines the heating system of the sample through DSC and TG analysis and orthogonal test;XRD test was carried out on samples with different smelting slag content to analyze its crystal phase change.Combined with the physical properties of the prepared samples and the characteristics of the pore size distribution,it is concluded that the batch material is mixed with slag and ceramic waste in a 1:1 ratio,a small amount of co-solvent and foaming agent are added, and the heating rate is 10?/min.When the foaming temperature is 1000?and the temperature is kept for30 minutes, porous ceramic samples with main crystal phases of Ca3Si3O9 and CaFe?Si2O6?can be obtained.Their bulk density, water absorption, and compressive strength are 0.73g/cm3,64%,and 13.06MPa,respectively.From the experiment we can draw the conclusion that:the softening temperature of the batching body decreases and the firing viscosity interval becomes larger, the porosity of the samples increases, the average pore size increases, the compressive strength decreases, the bulk density decreases;the sample is mainly composed of Ca3Si3O9 and CaFe?Si2O6?phase,and a small amount Quartz phase. When silicon carbide is used as a foaming agent,as the amount of silicon carbide increases, the strength of the sample decreases, the porosity increases, the bulk density decreases, and the sintering interval decreases. The crystal phase of the sample is mainly albite phase and diopside phase.A comparative study was carried out by combining the physical properties and expansion ratio as well as the foaming effects of sodium carbonate and silicon carbide in smelting slag-based porous ceramics. It is concluded that Sodium carbonate is more suitable as a foaming agent. This is mainly due to the fact that the decomposition temperature of sodium carbonate matches the softening temperature of the batch material, and the decomposition rate is stable, which is highly feasible in the experiment. This research can not only reduce the cost of raw materials for industrial production, reduce the stock of solid waste and reduce the harm of waste to the environment, but also obtain excellent products with high mechanical strength, high stability and corrosion resistance, which have very good economic and environmental benefits.
