The Static Synchronous Compensator(STATCOM)is often designed in substations to improve the unbalanced reactive power of the grid nodes and levels of the substation.It is applied to the reactive power compensation of the power system substation,and can instantaneously compensate the inductive reactance of any value(within the rated capacity range)to a certain area of the power grid according to the current unbalanced reactive power and reactive power demand of the compensated point.Capacity or capacitive reactive capacity.It is superior to most currently used reactive power compensation devices in substations because the reactive compensation characteristics of static synchronous compensators are dynamic and can be adjusted from time to time.This has also become a new research hotspot in the field of reactive power compensation.It is recognized that this device is the most effective means to increase power factor,control non-sinusoidal power grid,and improve power quality.This paper studies the principle of the main circuit of the STATCOM,discusses in detail the working principle of the main circuit switching device,studied the theoretical basis and the basis of the control system of the STATCOM device,from the hardware circuit and the software system.The aspects started to be designed;using MATLAB software to establish a model and perform simulations to verify the correctness and feasibility of the control algorithm;and finally discussed the actual core of the engineering field based on the STATCOM design,and the setting of the reactive compensation capacity.There are two key aspects of this scenario design:The traditional "ip-iq" detection method used in the three-phase three-wire power system environment is a constraint condition,ie,instantaneous three-phase current phase is zero.Here we have made some changes to this,first deal with the zero-sequence current,transform to the ideal state and then use this method to the system design.Compensation current control strategy.The compensation current uses a dynamic current hysteresis PWM control algorithm to realize the time-to-point tracking and control of the command current generated by the reactive compensation current to the device.In this paper,based on the practical,static power compensator-based substation reactive power compensation scheme,the problem of uniform compensation for reactive and nonsinusoidal waves in the power grid is studied,and the power quality is improved.It is hoped that this scheme design can be used as a reference material and a template for the integrated reactive compensation design in Dalian substation.
