The application of power electronics in power system makes the flexible power quality control come true.At present the distribution system modulate its voltage by fixed compensation and transformer on-load voltage regulating.This is an inadequate way to regulate the voltage by static regulating.It can hardly fit the needs when loads change largely.A good method which can control and modulate neatly is required.This paper practiced a method which can be applied in a distribution system.When loads in grid vary largely,TSC is used to regulate the grid voltage.This method can cover the shortage of traditional technology that use both fixed reactive compensation and on load tap changing transformer.This paper practiced a method which can be applied in a distribution system.It adopted TSC to regulate the voltage when connected to load that vary greatly.Firstly this paper introduced the method of reactive power compensation.The principle of parallel compensation was analyzed in detail,and the advantage of thyristor switched capacitor(TSC)was demonstrated.The trigger model of TSC and multilevel compensation were designed,which can compensate various capacity for different time in the most suitable time.Finally,through the example of one distribution network,the line loss and nodes' voltage by different compensation methods is analyzed,and the economy,feasibility and necessity of increasing TSC reactive compensation at the different positions of 10 kV line are verified.
