| Abjective: To systematically review the clinical efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)therapy in the treatment of spinal cord injury(SCI)by using Meta analysis. Methods: Databases including PubMed,The Cochrane Library,EMbase,CNKI,VIP and WanFang Data were electronically searched from inception to December 2017 to collect randomized controlled trials(RCT)about hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the treatment of spinal cord injury. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. Then meta-analysis was performed by using RevMan 5.3 software. Results: A total of 10 RCTs involving 844 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that compared to the control group total effective rate[RR=1.24,95%CI(1.15,1.35),P<0.00001],the Modified Barthel Index(MBI)[SMD=1.60,95%CI(0.73,2.48),P=0.0003],the American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA)motor scores[SMD=0.80,95%CI(0.60,1.00),P<0.00001],and the ASIA sensory scores[SMD=2.01,95%CI(0.79,3.22),P=0.001] were all significantly higher in the interferon group(HBO group).Further comparison showed that the ASIA tactile scores of the HBO group was better than that of the control group[SMD=0.78,95%CI(0.10,1.46),P=0.02].However,there was no statistical difference in the ASIA pain scores between the two groups[SMD=1.16,95%CI(-0.12,2.44),P=0.08].Conclusion: Based on existing research, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective in promoting the recovery of spinal nerve function after injury in patients with spinal cord injury.Especially for the recovery of motor function and tactile function, but the effect of improving pain function is not obvious at present. |
