Purpose To explore efficacy of two different surgical methods, namely lever reduction screw immobilization and open reduction and internal fixation in treating SandersⅡtype calcaneal fracture for analysis and contrast. Methods 100 patients with SandersⅡtype calcaneal fracture admitted to Department of Traumatic Orthopedics,The First Affiliated Hospital,Anhui Medical University during January,2015 to September,2016 were retrospectively analyzed. They are divided into group A(lever reduction screw immobilization)and B(open reduction and internal fixation)in accordance with selection criteria. There was no significant difference in gender, age, fracture side, weight, the causes of injury,B?hler angle,Gissane angle, and the time from trauma to operation between 2 groups(P>0.05).Surgical time, postoperative bleeding amount, postoperative pain degree, postoperative complications, ankle function score(The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society AOFAS score),Bohler angle and Gissane angle of the patients are observed. Results Surgical time, postoperative bleeding amount, postoperative pain and postoperative complications in group A are obviously better than that in group B,with significant difference(P<0.005).Ankle function scores received six months after the surgery in two groups are of no obvious difference(P>0.005).Postoperative B?hler angle and Gissane angle are significantly improved compared to that before surgery. No statistical difference exists in the two groups(P>0.005).Conclusions In comparison, the two surgical schemes can achieve satisfactory fracture reduction and clinical efficacy in treating SandersⅡtype calcaneal fracture. However, lever reduction is featured by advantages of small surgical incision, less complications and less postoperative pain, making it worth of clinical promotion.
