| Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of granule moxibustion in the treatment of humerus epicondylitis. Methods 60 patients with humeral epicondylitis who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups,30 in each of the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was treated with granule moxibustion, local acupoints were selected, the moxa was made into a cone size about 4 mm high and a bottom diameter of 3 mm,and placed on the selected acupoints, after ignition, when the patient felt painful, the moxa was removed with a forceps, and per acupoint were treated with 5 times. The control group was given conventional acupuncture treatment.Local acupoints,Quci,Zhouliao,Shousanli,Hegu were selected, the depth of acupuncture was 1-1.5 cun,the treatment time was 30 minutes. The two groups were treated every other day,3 times a week for 2 weeks,a total of 6 times. The VAS score and Mayo elbow joint function score were used as evaluation indexes to compare the clinical efficacy of two groups before treatment, once after treatment, two weeks after treatment and one month after treatment(follow-up).Results There was no significant difference in gender, age, course of disease, disease location,VAS score and Mayo score before treatment between the two groups(P> 0.05),which indicated that the baseline data were comparable between the two groups; The VAS score of two groups were statistically significant(P <0.05),compared with those before treatment, after once after treatment, two weeks after treatment and at follow-up,indicating that the two treatment methods can relieve the pain of elbow joint;between the two groups, the VAS score of the moxibustion group was significantly higher than that of the acupuncture group(P <0.05),which showed that the instant analgesic effect of the moxibustion was better than that of the conventional acupuncture; The Mayo score of two weeks after treatment,follow-up compared with that of before treatment, were statistically significant(P <0.05),indicating that both treatment methods can improve joint function and improve quality of life;no significant difference between the two groups(P> 0.05),indicating that the two treatment methods are quite effective; For clinical curative effect, the total effective rate of granule moxibustion group was 93.1%,and the acupuncture group was 85.7%,no statistically significant(P <0.05)between the two groups. Conclusion Granule moxibustion treatment is effective in treating humerus epicondylitis,it can relieve pain, improve the functional status of elbow and improve the quality of patients’ life. There is no difference in curative effect between granule moxibustion and acupuncture, but granule moxibustion has better instant analgesic effect,it is worth promoting clinical application. |
