Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum bilirubin and the incidence of acute ischemic stroke(AIS)and the degree of neurological deficit, and to guide the treatment and secondary prevention of AIS.Methods: Using the electronic medical records management system of the computer Management Center of the First People’s Hospital of Changde affiliated to South China University,A total of 219 patients with AIS and non stroke patients who were hospitalized in the neurology department of the hospital from January 2015 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed..There were 115 in AIS group and 104 control group in non-cerebral apoplexy group(anxiety, depression, vertigo syndrome and benign positional vertigo, etc.),Collect the relevant clinical data of the two groups, including the patient’s basic information(such as sex, age, smoking history, drinking history),history of related diseases(hypertension, hyperlipemia, diabetes, hyperuricemia),serum total bilirubin, serum direct bilirubin and serum indirect bilirubin and other related indicators,The results of color Doppler ultrasound on the neck,AIS patients also need to collect their NIHSS scoresafter admission.Use the EmpowerStats software for statistical analysis. Results: 1.The levels of serum bilirubin(total bilirubin、direct bilirubin、indirect bilirubin)、homocysteine、fasting blood-glucose、serum uric acid and fibrinogen in AIS group were higher than those in non-cerebral apoplexy group. The incidence of smoking、drinking、hypertension and diabetes was higher than that of non-cerebral apoplexy.(p < 0.05).2.The positive correlation between serum bilirubin(total bilirubin, direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin)and admission NIHSS score was found in patients with acute ischemic stroke.(p < 0.05).3.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that smoking、hypertension、serum total bilirubin、fibrinogen were independently associated with acute ischemic stroke.(p < 0.05).Conclusions: 1.The fasting serum bilirubin level in AIS patients may be correlated with the severity of hospitalization.2.The higher the level of serum bilirubin in a certain range, the better the recovery of neurological deficits in patients with AIS.
