Relationship Between Serum CXCL16 And Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction In Patients With Chronic Heart Failure

Objectives: To explore the association of serum Chemokine C-X-C ligand 16(CXCL16)and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods: 1)Our research included in 2 groups: Observation group,n=150 patients with China-Peace5 prospective cohort study CHF admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China from 2017-03 to 2018-01 and Control group,n=50 subjects without heart failure.According to the results of color doppler echocardiography,the patients were divided into another set of 3 groups: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFp EF),patients with LVEF≥50%,n=50,midrange ejection fraction(HFmr EF),patients with 40%≤EF≤49%,n=50 and reduced ejection fraction(HFr EF),patients with EF≥50%,n=50.Basic clinical information of these patients was collected,such as sex,age,height,weight,blood pressure,smoking history,history of hypertension and history of diabetes.blood levels of lipid(TC、TG、LDL-C、HDL-C)and CRP were examined.The basic clinical information,blood levels of lipid(TC、TG、LDL-C、HDL-C)and C-reactive protein(CRP)were compared among observation group and control group.2)Serum CXCL16 level was examined by ELISA and compared among observation group and control group.3)blood levels of NT-pro BNP were examined,echocardiography was conducted to measure LVEF,left ventricular end diastolic diamet-er(LVEDd),Left ventricular posterior wall thickness(LVPWd),Interven-tricular septal thickness(IVSd).Correlations between blood level of lipid,NT-pro BNP,CRP,echocardiography parameters and serum CX CL16 were studied.4)Serum CXCL16 level was compared from HFp EF,HFmr EF and HFr EF.Correlations between blood level of NT-pro BNP,CXCL16 and LVEF were studied.Results: 1)Sex,age,smoking,body mass index(BMI),blood pressure,medical history,the blood lipid level(TC,TG,LDL,HDL)and CRP aren’t statistically different between experimental and control group(P>0.05).2)Compared with control group,the expression level of Serum CXCL16 in patients of observation group is higher(4334.63±758.90 vs 2624.51±668.95),and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.001).3)In observation group,serum CXCL16 was positively related to serum CRP(r=0.101,P<0.05),plasma NT-pro BNP(r=0.380,P<0.05),LVEDd(r=0.375,P<0.05),LVPWd(r=0.252,P<0.05)and IVSd(r=0.222,P<0.05).There was no statistical significance between serum CXCL16 and the blood lipid level(TC、TG、LDL、HDL)from the correlation analysis(P>0.05).LVEF was negatively related to serum CXCL16(r=0.447,P<0.001)and plasma NT-pro BNP(r=0.283,P<0.001).4)The difference of serum CXCL16 level is statistically signifi-cant among HFp EF group,HFmr EF group and HFr EF group(F=16.680,P<0.001).Compared with other groups,HFp EF group showed the lower serum levels of CXCL16(P<0.05),and HFmr EF group was lower serum levels of CXCL16 than HFr EF group(p<0.05).Conclusions:1)Serum CXCL16 was negatively related to LVEF for CHF,and it may be related to the increase of serum CRP.2)Serum CXCL16 may be used as biomarkers for diagnosis in patients with chronic heart failure.
