Objectives:To investigate the fatigue status in patients with maintenance hemodialysis(MH)and analyze relevant factors affecting it.Methods:l.Consecutive MH patients(n=121)who had seen a doctor between 01/03/17 and 31/12/17 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were included.General conditions questionnaire was used to collect general conditions such as patient's gender, age, marital status, number of children, home address, economic status, medical insurance, education level, work, sleep, diet, and mood,et al;Brief Fatigue Inventory BFI and Fatigue Scale FS-14 were used as questionnaires to assess the degree of fatigue.2.The clinical data of patients were collected during the investigation at the same time, including:course of disease, dialysis time, and laboratory examination data such as blood routine, liver function, renal function,electrolytes,anemia-related test, and bone metabolism-related test,et al.Results:1.Among the 121 investigated hemodialysis patients, the fatigue score of BFI was(34.566±17.28)and FS-14 score was(7.73±2.36);79.33 percent of patients had fatigue, mainly involved in physical fatigue.2.When BFI score was used as a dependent variable,it was positively correlated with transferrin(B=7.751,t=3.147,P=0.002);Data was analyzed by multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis.3.when FS-14 score was used as a dependent variable,it was negatively correlated with the time of falling asleep at night(B=-0.304,t=-5.168,P=0.000),and positively correlated with number of children(B=0.321,t=2.639,P=0.009),alkaline phosphatase(B=0.009,t=2.067,P=0.041),and urea nitrogen(B=0.072,t=3.237,P=0.002);Data was analyzed by multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis. Conclusions:Fatigue is a high-frequency event in the patients with MH and should be taken into account in clinical work. This study found that factors such as time of falling asleep at night, number of children, transferrin, blood urea nitrogen, and alkaline phosphatase were associated with fatigue in the patients with MH.It is of great value to improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients by taking active prevention and intervention measures against these factors.
