Objectives 1 To evaluate the reliability of measuring the volume of thyroid model by using MSCT,and to discuss to select the most accurate post-treatment thickness.2 To compare the effect of the 131I treatment of Graves hyperthyroidism.Methods 1 10 simulated thyroid models were made of dough,and shaped as olive.The method of drainage was used measuring the volume,and the volume of thyroid models were 18,23,28,35,41,50,60,65,70 and 78cm3.GE128 layers Multi-slice spiral CT(GE company Lightspeed VCT)was used to perform a continuous scan,and volumetric calculation function of AW4.6 workstation(with method of hooking edge manually)was used to process the image,with the slice thicknesses of image processing were 1mm,2mm,3mm,4mm and 5mm.The measuring volume of thyroid models were processed with multiplying the measured area by slice thickness and by the number of ply.All measurements were performed independently by two experienced surveyors,each measuring 10 times.Record data and SPSS 17.0 was used analyzing the data.2 Patients were selected from 2016.1 to 2017.7,who were diagnosed with Graves-Hyperthyroidism and treated by radioiodine for the first time.Patients were selected with inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria strictly,and factors effecting the treatment of radioiodine were controlled.402 Patients(159 males and 243 females)were selected.The patients were randomly divided into US group(184 patients,with 70 males and 114 females)and MSCT group(218 patients,with 89 males and 129 females)according to the principle of random grouping.The thyroid of the patients in US were detected by Color Doppler Ultrasound,then accepted radioiodine treatment.The thyroid of the patients in MSCT were scanned by GE128 layers Multi-slice spiral CT(GE company Lightspeed VCT)and then treated by radioiodine.All measurements were performed independently by two physician.Each group was divided into three subgroups(levelⅠ,levelⅡand levelⅢ).There was no statistic difference between MSCT group and Color Doppler Ultrasound group on baseline data.All patients were visiting after 1 month,3months and 6 months.Results 1 When Measurer A and B were measuring the volume of 10 thyroid models with 1mm and 2mm as slice thicknesses,there was no statistic difference between the measuring volume and true volume(P>0.05);When Measurer A and B were measuring the volume of 10 thyroid models with 3mm,4mm and 5mm as slice thicknesses,there was a observable statistic difference between the measuring volume and true volume(P<0.05).When Measurer A and B were measuring the volume of 10 thyroid models with 1mm and2 mm as slice thicknesses,there was no statistic difference between the volume measuring by different measurer,or measuring with different slice thickness(P>0.05).There was a observable statistic difference between the signal to noise ratios when 1mm and 2mm were selected as slice thicknesses(P<0.05).Higher the signal to noise ratio was,higher quality the images had.2mm was better than 1mm when selected as slice thicknesses to get a higher image quality.There was a observable statistic difference between the quantity of images when 1mm and 2mm were selected as slice thicknesses(P<0.05).Less quantity of images we had gotten when 2mm was selected as slice thicknesses.2 There was no statistic difference between US group and CT group in patients with level 1 goiter on efficient and inefficient rate(P>0.05).There was a observable statistic difference between US group and CT group in patients with level 2 goiter on efficient and inefficient rate rate(P<0.05).There was a observable statistic difference between US group and CT group in patients with level 3 goiter on efficient and inefficient rate rate(P<0.05).Conclusions 1 Measuring thyroid volume by MSCT was viable and repeatable;there was influence on measuring thyroid model volume in different slice thicknesses,when using 1mm and 2mm as the thickness of the measuring layer,MSCT can accurately measure the volume of each thyroid model,and the optimal thickness was 2mm.2 In Graves hyperthyroidism patients with level 1 goiter,there was no difference between US and MSCT when guiding the 131I treatment;In Graves hyperthyroidism patients with level2 and level 3 goiter,MSCT had a better guidance on 131I treatment than US.
