Objective To compare the effect of Kirschner wire tension band and hollow nail tension band in the treatment of transverse patellar fracture. Methods 53 cases of transverse patellar fracture treated in our hospital between January 2014 and May 2016 were divided into two groups:group A(28 cases,15 males and 13 females, mean age,37.8 years old;causes of injuries:17 cases of falling injury and11 cases of traffic accident)were treated with hollow nail tension band fixation. In group B,(25 cases,13 males and 12 females aged from 30 to 52 years old, average age of 40.7years;the causes of the injuries were:15 cases of falling injury and 10 cases of traffic accidents)were treated with Kirschner wire tension band internal fixation. The patients in both groups were followed up for 12 months.During the follow-up period, the function exercise was directed and the information was collected, and the database was established. After statistical analysis(t test was used in fracture healing time and the maximum flexion angle of knee joint 12 months after operation,x~2 test was used in postoperative complications and patella score,a difference between data was considered significant when p<0.05),The difference of fracture healing time, postoperative complications, maximum knee flexion angle 12 months after operation and Bostman patella score were compared between the two groups. Results Compared to the two groups, the fracture healing time, postoperative complications, maximal knee flexion angle and Bostman patella score in group A were better than those in group B(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with Kirschner wire tension band, hollow nail tension band has the advantages of simple operation, reliable fixation, quick fracture healing, good knee joint function and fewer postoperative complications. It is worthy of clinical application. |
