Efficacy Of Outer Tube Adjunctive Endoscopic Sclerotherapy For Treatment Of Esophageal Variceal Hemorrhage

ObjectiveTo explore the efficacy and safety of outer tube adjunctive endoscopic sclerotherapy in the treatment of esophageal variceal hemorrhage.MethodFrom July 2015 to January 2017,94 esophageal variceal hemorrhage patients treated in our hospital according to different treatment divided into the outer tube adjunctive endoscopic sclerotherapy group(49 cases)and endoscopic band ligation group(45 cases).The success rate of hemostasis,the rebleeding rate,varicose veins disappearance rate,varicose veins generally disappearance rate,6 months survival rate,complication rate,number of treatment,hospitalization days,medical expenses of two groups were observed and compared.ResultNumber of treatment,hospitalization days,medical expenses were significantly lower in the outer tube adjunctive endoscopic sclerotherapy group than in endoscopic band ligation group(P<0.05);The incidence of esophageal ulcer was higher than that of the ligation group(P<0.05).The success rate of hemostasis,the rebleeding rate,varicose veins disappearance rate,varicose veins generally disappearance rate,6months survival rate and complication rate(chest pain,fever,esophageal stricture,dysphagia,inhalation pneumonia)of two groups were no significant differences(P>0.05).ConclusionOuter tube adjunctive endoscopic sclerotherapy is safe and effective in the treatment of esophageal variceal hemorrhage,also can reduce the economic burden of patients.It is suggested that this method should be used and promoted in clinical practice.
