The incidence of acute coronary syndrome(ACS)is increasing year by year and it is more prone to young people in China at present.Acute coronary syndrome, which comes suddenly and progress rapidly, leads to high morbidity and mortality. Thus, efficient and accurate diagnosis in early time is of great importance, which could provide more time and chance for early clinical intervention.Heart-type fatty acid-binding protein(H-FABP),a myocardial highly specificity protein, which is released rapidly from injured myocardium and the concentration fluctuates regularly, could be regarded as one of the biomarkers in the early diagnosis of ACS.Update clinical detection methods of H-FABP with more accuracy and immediacy brings more convenience and reliability for clinical application. The combined application of H-FABP and other myocardial demage biomarkers can improve the sensitivity and specificity of clinical diagnosis. This review mainly focus on the updated overview of the biological properties of H-FABP,detection methods, clinical application in the ACS.
