Objective:We retrospectively analyzed the serum lipid of patients with motor neuron disease at the time of initial diagnosis, and analyzed the lipid levels of different subgroups in motor neuron disease patients in order to guide further clinical and fundamental studies. Methods:We collected 120 cases of motor neuron disease who presented from2012-07 to 2017-12 in the department of neurology, the second hospital of Hebei Medical University,as experimental group.Meanwhile 166 cases of healthy controls and 120 cases with intracranial and extracranial atherosclerosis associated acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease were age and gender matched as the control groups. The fasting blood lipid index were collected. The levels of total cholesterol and triglyceride were determined by enzyme colorimetry. The serum lipids: high density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol were determined by homogeneous phase colorimetric assay.Statistical analysis used SPSS 21.0.Results:Compared to the healthy controls and patients with acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the TG?LDL/HDL levels in patients with motor neuron disease were lower;compared with the healthy controls,LDL levels of MND were lower, compared with patients with cerebrovascular disease, the HDL levels of MND were higher, statistically significant(P <0.05).Different subgroups of MND analysis showed that patients in most subgroups of MND have lower TG level compared to the healthy controls;patients with ages<60 years old?bulbar onset and the male had lower LDL level than healthy controls, patients with?60 years old ?bulbar onset hand lower LDL/HDL than healthy controls;compared with < 60 years old patients, patients with ages ? 60 years old hand lower TG ? LDL/HDL levels;the level of LDL/HDL in patients with MITOS stage M2 was lowerthan that in M1,statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclution:In patients of motor neuron disease, the level of serum lipid is lower at the initial diagnosis.
