| Objective: A cross-sectional survey was conducted to investigate the detection rate of depressive symptoms、depression knowledge awareness status and psychological capital then analysis the relevant factors of depressive symptoms.And analysis the relationships between depression knowledge,psychological capital and depressive symptoms,and then provide a scientific basis for the psychological education of medical freshmen.Methods: In this study,stratified cluster sampling was used to select freshmen of 40 classes in 10 medical majors in a medical college in Chongqing in October 2016 as the study subjects.The validated Chinese version of the 21-item Beck’s Depression Inventory,self-made basic situation questionnaires,self-made depression knowledge questionnaires and Psychological Capital Ques-tionnaire-24 were used.The resulting survey data were collated and entered using Epidata 3.1.SPSS 21.0 wasused for statistical analysis.Count data were expressed as a percentage.Measured data were expressed as mean±standard deviation.Comparison between groups was performed using Chi-square test.The mean was compared with t test.Influential factors of the depressive symptoms were determined by an orderly logistic regression model.Result:1.A total of 2039 questionnaires were distributed in the survey and2039 were recovered.After screening,1929 effective questionnaires were obtained(the effective rate was 94.6%).There were 613 boys and 1316 girls in this survey.The subjects were between 15 and 25 years old,with an average age of 18.56±0.99.2.The mean score of BDI(mean±SD)of medical freshmen was4.40±5.28,the number of mild and mild above depressive symptoms was694,and the total detective rate of depressive symptoms was 35.9%.Among them,the prevalence of mild depressive symptoms was 28.7%,the prevalence of moderate depressive symptoms was 5.5%,and the prevalence of severe depressive symptoms was 1.7%.Ordered logistic regression analysis results show that physical health,physical activity,group activity,loneliness,family mental problems,psychological stress,help-seeking and the scores of depression knowledge have certain impacts on the occurrence of depressive symptoms,in which the higher scores of depression knowledge,the lower the degree of depressive symptoms(OR=0.87).3.The average total score(mean ±SD)of depression knowledge was16.93±3.110,and the awareness passing rate of depression knowledge was82.4%.4.The psychological capital questionnaire of medical freshmen has a total average score 4.50±0.67,the self-efficacy dimension average score is4.59±0.72,the hope dimension average score is 4.45±0.80,the toughness dimension average score is 4.48±0.76,and the optimistic dimension average score is 4.49±0.80.Conclusion: Most of medical freshmen are mild or moderate depressive symptoms,and a few are severe depressive symptoms.Depression-related knowledge is well known,but there is still a necessity to increase the awareness of depressive knowledge so as to increase the ability to identify depressive symptoms and improve help-seeking awareness.Freshmen’s psychological capital is well,and the difference of freshmen’s psychological capital is not significant in different situations,and because psychological capital is closely related to depression,colleges and universities should pay attention to the improvement of students’ psychological capital.The psychological health of freshmen should attract the attention of school mental health education,strengthen publicity and popularization of depression knowledge,improve students’ depressive literacy,provide psychological counseling to students with psychological problems as soon as possible,hold more campus collective activities,andencourage students to participate in sports,or through some group interventions to reduce and prevent the occurrence of depressive symptoms in medical students. |
