Background:Partial edentulous arches is a kind of common disease and Frequent disease in Oral repair clinical task,it has affected the quality of people’s life seriously.The loss of posterior tooth affects masticatory efficiency,then it affects the gastrointestinal health,it brings digestive diseases.The loss of anterior tooth affects the pronunciation and appearance of patient and impacts the patient’s physical and mental health.Partial edentulous arches disrupts the three-dimensional dynamic balance,which may result in elongation of jaw teeth,incline of adjacent teeth,destruction of periodontal tissue,occlusal interference,occlusal disorder and temporomandibular joint disease.China has entered into an aging society.The resulting increase in the number of patients with partial edentulous jaws can not be ignored.Oral health problems are associated with the well-being of people,especially the elderly,their tolerance and mental capacity are decreased,Partial edentulous has much more Influence to them.So far,the dental implant restoration and the removable partial denture are the main repair method of repairing partial edentulous.Although the dental implant restoration has been well developed in our country,the removable partial denture is still a common method to repair partial edentulous arches.The major connector is one of the important parts of the removable partial denture,which is closely related to the health of the abutment teeth and the wearing of the denture.According to the different conditions of patients,we use personalized customization to find the most suitable major connector of the removable partial denture which is related to the success of treatment.Objective:By designing removable partial dentures with different major connectors repair dentition defect,we can get the best repairing plan for the different patients.Materials and methods: We select 11 patients of dentition defect who repair in Dalian Medical University Stomatological Hospital from 2015 to 2016,6 cases of Ken’s type I dentition defect,6 cases of Ken’s type Ⅱ dentition defect,1 case of Ken’sⅣ dentition defect,5 cases of male patients,6 cases of female patients,the youngest 47 years old one,and the oldest 83 years old one.Before the repair,we ask for detailed medical history,we understand the purpose of the visit,expectations and treatment requirements,we check the patient’s oral hard and soft tissue conditions,we analysis and design for patients with different situations,then we design removable partial denture for repairing denture defect with different major connector.Results: We find 11 cases of patients with removable partial for repairing denture defect,9 patients of them wear successfully when wearing this first time,2 patients of them wear this difficult,then wear successfully after repairing,RPD can have an good retention,base can connect to membrane well,the edge of the extension is suitable,and they feel comfortable.Conclusion: According to patients’ oral membrane condition,alveolar ridge condition and remaining tooth condition,the patients’ sensitivity,adaptability and economic ability,we choose different RPD of major connector for repairing dentition defect.We get good results,patient satisfaction is high.
