Efficacy Of Low Dose ⁹⁰Sr-⁹⁰Y Application Combined With 0.5% Solution Of Topical Timolol Maleate Treatment For Infantile Superficial Hemangiomas

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of low dose 90Sr-90Y application combined with 0.5%solution of topical timolol maleate for infantile superficial hemangiomas.Methods:According to randomly digital groups,a total of 72 infants with hemangiomas are separately divided into the study group(n=37,age≤3 months,17cases;age>3months,20 cases)and the control group(n=35,age≤3 months,15cases,age>3months,20 cases).While the former is treated with low dose of90Sr-90Y application combined with 0.5%solution of timolol maleate,the latter receives the same dose of 90Sr-90Y application with physiological saline.With90Sr-90Y applicaton treatment for infantile superficial hemangiomas,the applicator is directly applied on the surface of IHs.If the tumor is large,the application is divided into several squares about 2*2cm.When the tumor is small,the application is used with thick rubber around them to protect the normal skin.One course of 90Sr-90Y applicaton is 10-12Gy for two groups.For the study group,the timolol maleate solution is used twice per day.The dosage of drug is 30μl/cm~2,which is gently smeared over the area by fingers.Treatment effectiveness will be regularly compared between the two groups after treatment,and the relative data will be collected for statistical analysis.Results:The total effective rate and the total excellence rate are all 100%(17/17and 20/20),but the cure rate is respectively 94.1%(16/17,age≤3months)and 85.0%(17/20,age>3months)in the study group.The total effective rate is also100%(15/15,age≤3months;20/20,age>3months),but the total excellence rate is86.7%(13/15,age≤3 months)and 75.0%(15/20,age>3months),and the cure rate is66.7%(10/15,age≤3months)and 60.0%(12/20,age>3months)in the control group.The total excellence rate and the cure rate of the study group are obviously higher than ones of the control group(the excellence rate:χ2=13.90,P<0.01,age≤3months;χ2=28.57,P<0.01,age>3months;The recovery rate:χ2=23.22,P<0.01,age≤3months;χ2=15.67,P<0.01,age>3months).In 3~4 months,after the first course,the cure rate is 33.3%(11/33)in the study group,which is higher than18.32%(4/22)in the control group(χ2=5.92,P<0.05).Adverse reaction is found in neither group.Conclusion:With prompt and excellent effects but no obvious adverse reaction,low dose of 90Sr-90Y application combined with 0.5%timolol maleate for infantile superficial hemangiomas is worth being popularized clinically.
