Objective :To explore the possible relationship between IL-1β and cognitive function,seeking for an objective measurement tool to evaluate patients’ cognitive function quickly and conveniently.Method: we adopted self-control research,screened patients with snoring from our hospital from October 2015 to October 2017,and performed polysomnogram(PSG)exam.The routine examination of hospitalized patients was completed,patients with surgical contraindication,infection,anoxic diseases and Cognitive impairment were eliminated.60 severe OSAHS patients were identified,including 53 males and 7 females.At the second days of hospitalization,the blood of the elbow vein was taken,after the centrifuge,the upper serum was taken and stored in the refrigerator at-70 C,and the MoCA score was examined by the special person.All patients were treated with 5 days nocturnal continuous positive airway pressure(CAPA)and surgical treatment during hospitalization.The patients were followed up after 6 months of discharge,the PSG,MoCA scores and the serum IL-1β level were evaluated again respectively.The level of serum IL-1β level were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),AHI and LSaO2 were analysised in PSG.The changes of serum IL-1 beta,MoCA score,AHI and LSaO2 were compared before and after comprehensive treatment,and the correlation between IL-1 beta and each index was analyzed.All the experimental data were analyzed by Excel and SPSS 17.0 statistical software.Result: 1.The level of serum IL-1beta in severe OSAHS patients before treatment and after half a year of follow up was 43.34±2.20ng/ml,24.35±4.18ng/ml,respectively.The MoCA score before treatment and after half a year of follow up was 24.37±1.26 score,26.20±1.19 score,the difference have statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.Before treatment and after half a year of follow up,the AHI of the patients with severe OSAHS was 50.50±5.38 times per hour,28.31±5.87 times per hour,respectively.and the LSaO2 was 71.70±3.65%,83.58±2.96%,the difference have statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Useing partial correlation analysis showed that the serum IL-1 beta concentration of severe OSAHS patients was negatively correlated with MoCA(r=-0.346,P < 0.01),and positively correlated with AHI(r=0.616,P < 0.01),and negatively correlated with LSaO2(r=-0.330,P < 0.01).There was a positively correlation between MoCA score with LSaO2(r=0.613,P<0.01),and a negative correlation between MoCA score with AHI(r=-0.609,P<0.01).Conclusion: 1.Sever OSAHS patients have Cognitive impairment and serum IL-1 beta elevated.2.CPAP combined surgery is an effective way to reduce serum IL-1beta level and improve cognitive function in patients with severe OSAHS.
