Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis Synovial Inflammation(Syndrome Of Dampness-Heat Blocking Collaterals) With Coix-Macrocephalae Decoction

Purpose: Mainly observe the clinical effects of coix-macrocephalae decoction treatment group and Huamoyan Pian control group in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis synovial inflammation(Syndrome of dampness-heat blocking collaterals).Verify the clinical efficacy of coix-macrocephalae decoction in treating knee osteoarthritis with synovial inflammation(Syndrome of dampness-heat blocking collaterals)by analyzing the clinical symptoms and signs,and observing the changes in indicators before and after treatment.Method: This study adopts a randomized controlled clinical approach.Selected patients with knee osteoarthritis synovial inflammation(Syndrome of dampness-heat blocking collaterals)from The Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine(Jilin Province Hospital of TCM)that meets the inclusion criteria.According to the proportion of 1:1,they are randomly divided into treatment group and control group.There was no significant difference in baseline data onto the two groups by statistical software analysis.The treatment group was given coix-macrocephalae decoction Nongbenfang Keli,one dose per day.Took One volume by 200 ml water,one time in morning and one time in evening,half an hour after meals.The course of treatment was 3 weeks.The control group was given Huamoyan Pian 3 times a day,3 tablets each time.The course of treatment was also 3 weeks.Supportive treatment was given to both group of patients: Patients were advised to resting and avoided excessive walking and the use of other treatments than experimental drugs during the experiment,and they were guided the patient’s functional practice.Evaluate changes in Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(WOMAC)osteoarthritis index,changes into knee swelling,changes into knee tenderness,and changes into the difference in circumference of the affected and healthy knees before and after treatment.Evaluate compliance and adverse events in both groups.Result: The total effective rate was 59.57% in the treatment group and 59.18% in the control group.Statistical software analysis showed no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).There were no significant differences of improvement in WOMAC scores,knee tenderness,knee swelling,and the circumference difference between the affected and healthy knees in both treatment methods(P>0.05).The compliance with the two groups was good.3 cases detached from the treatment group,1 case detached from the control group,and the rest were treated with advice.One patient in the treatment group developed diarrhea and retired.Conclusion: The effect of coix-macrocephalae decoction on knee osteoart-hritis synovial inflammation(Syndrome of dampness-heat blocking collateral s)is c-omparable to that of Huamoyan Pian,which is effective,safe and wor thy of clinical promotion.
